Projects

Renewco's professional team has been implementing landfill-to-high BTU gas conversion projects since 2006. To date, we've designed and implemented processing plants capable of removing 24,000 scfm of landfill gas waste, cumulatively, from the environment. These plants are contributing high quality natural gas to the distribution system, reducing the reliance on natural gas reserves.

Here's a look at some of our projects.

Meadow Branch Landfill Methane Recovery Project
Location: Athens, Tennessee
Operating since: August 2011
Landfill Owner: Environmental Trust Company, a Waste Connections subsidiary
Role: Build, own and operate
Processing Capability: 4,000 scfm of raw landfill gas
Product Gas: Compression and an Air Liquide-Medal Biogaz System delivered 1,400 MMBtu/day in 2011, ramping up to over twice that over the life of the project.

Landfill Owner: River Birch, Inc.
Role: Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC)
Processing Capability: 8,000 scfm of raw landfill gas
Product Gas: Compression and an Air Liquide-Medal Biogaz System delivers 970 BTU gas to a local utility pipeline.

Seneca/Lego V Landfill Methane Recovery Project
Operating since: First quarter 2011
Location: Butler County, Pennsylvania
Landfill Owner: Vogel Holding, Inc.

Location: Somerset County, Pennsylvania, near the Town of Davidsville
Landfill Owner: Waste Management, Inc.
Role: Build, own and operate
Processing Capability: 2,000 scfm of raw landfill gas
Product Gas: An Air Liquide-Medal Biogaz Membrane System delivers 970 BTU gas through a 2.8-mile pipeline to a local public utility's natural gas distribution system. (Note: While Keystone operated this plant, it produced about 650 MCF per day. As of September 30, 2009, the plant is now owned and operated by Leaf LFG US Investments, Inc.)

Shade Landfill Methane Recovery Project

Role: Build, own and operate
Processing Capability: 4,000 scfm of raw landfill gas
Product Gas: Compression and an Air Liquide-Medal Biogaz Membrane System deliver 970 BTU gas through a 12-mile pipeline to a local public utility's natural gas distribution system. (While Keystone operated this plant, it produced about 1,200 to 1,400 MCF per day. As of September 30, 2009, the plant is now owned and operated by Leaf LFG US Investments, Inc.)

Laurel Highlands Methane Recovery Project
