About Us

Renewco was born from a partnership between Southern Company Gas (formerly AGL Resources), one of the largest and oldest natural gas distribution companies in the U.S.; and Keystone Renewable Energy, experts in solid waste management, landfill gas collection system design and optimization. In 2013, Southern Company Gas purchased the rights to become the sole owner of the business. Landfill owners get the benefit of working with a partner that brings longevity and financial stability to the project.

The art and science of developing a landfill gas project involves many challenging and complex phases. Renewco is the only developer that can seamlessly integrate each phase of the project using in-house resources from beginning to end. Our experts possess all of the know-how required to see landfill-to-pipeline through to a successful and profitable completion. No one in the industry has the depth and breadth that Renewco offers.

The conversion of landfill gas to high BTU pipeline-quality natural gas, using membrane technology, is still a relatively new concept. Of the projects completed to date throughout the U.S., many are the work of the professionals on Renewco's team. We're proud to be ushering in a highly efficient, accessible form of renewable energy.
